Almost one in three (aged 15 and over) are obese.
48% of Maori adults are obese.
68% of pacific adults are obese.
Children-
One in a nine children (aged 2 to 14 Years) are obese.
One in five children are overweight.
19% of Maori children are obese.
27% of Pacific children are obese
Smoking
According to the Health of New Zealand,
18% of adults were current smokers in 2011/12, down from 20% in 2006/07.
No change was seen in the Māori smoking rate (41%).
The youth smoking rate dropped from 14% to 6% in the past 5 years.
Cancer
Cancer is the leading cause of death in New Zealand accounting for 29.4% of all deaths.
18,610 new cancer diagnoses and 7,970 cancer deaths in New Zealand.

Exercise
According to the Ministry of Health NZ,
More than half of adults were physically active for at 30 minutes on five or more days of the week.
Men are more likely to be physically active than women.
Pacific and Asian adults are less likely to be physically active than non-Pacific, non-Asian adults.
